The Wokha Forest Division under Nagar Van Yojana organized a program to commemorate World Ozone Day at Government Middle School Wokha Town-C on 13th September 2024. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of ozone layer conservation and the causes of ozone depletion.
Rajiv Shankar, IFS, ACF, Wokha Division, delivered an informative session on the causes of ozone depletion, emphasizing the need for collective action to protect the ozone layer to around 100 participants, including students from Class 5-8, teachers, and staff from the Wokha Forest Division and Wokha DMU.
Mhabemo Lotha, M&E Expert, shared a poignant speech in the local dialect, highlighting the significance of ozone layer conservation.
The program was chaired by Tumben Odyuo, Community Mobilizer, and commenced with a warm welcome address by Km. K Nzanmongi Jami, Primary Teacher. The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Grace Kikon, Range Forest Officer, Wokha Range, expressing gratitude to all participants, speakers, and organizers.
The event was a resounding success, inspiring students and attendees to take action in protecting the ozone layer and promoting environmental sustainability.
