Wokha observed the National Youth Week Festival and Declamation Contest at the WDVCCA conference Hall, Wokha on January 12.
Under the theme, “My Bharat; Viksit Bharat @2047; By the Youth, For the Youth”, the event was organized by the Young Imperial Club Funded NYKS, Wokha. The event was graced by N Renchano Kithan, Senior SDO, District Education Officer In-Charge, Wokha as the Chief Guest.
Highlighting the objective of the event, the Chief Guest stated that the event aims to saturate all government schemes and not to leave any deserving beneficiaries from the changes by previous Government. Kithan also explained the concept behind declamation speech, which is an oratorical exercise to showcase a process of public speaking delivering powerful and expressive emotions to evoke and captivate the audience. “This contest aims to provide platform to the youth from all sections of the society to share their ideas and express the visions of My Bharat; Viksit Bharat @2047,” stated Kithan.
Encouraging the participants to give their best and wishing for a successful contest, Kithan concluded, “A brave and inspiring youth is the only foundation on which the future nation is build.”

The winners of the declamation contest were Chiben G Enny who secured the first position, Chonben Kikon in the second position and Nzani Yanthan securing the third position. Chiben G Enny will be participating at the state level competition.
The participants were judged under the criteria of originality of the content, authentic references, analysis of current situation, creative suggestion, New ideas, communication skills, presentation, clarity of ideas and thoughts and confidence.
The judges for the Declamation Contest included Thungjano Ovung, Assistant professor and Meribeni T Kikon, journalist.
