Wokha SAATHI WhatsApp Chatbot wins Gold Award under ‘District Level Initiatives in E-Governance’

The Wokha SAATHI (Smart AIbased Assistant for Timely Help & Interface) WhatsApp Chatbot, Wokha, Government of Nagaland has been awarded the GOLD AWARD under the Category “District Level Initiatives in E-Governance” of the National Awards for e-Governance Scheme 2023-2024.

This was informed by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions in a letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Wokha. The Gold Award carries a certificate and a trophy for the project and a cash Award of Rs.10 lakh for the Department/ Organisation/ Institution and a Certificate for each Team Member not exceeding four in numbers (including Project Head).

The Trophy and certificates will be conferred during the 27th National Conference on e-Governance (NCeG) is proposed to be held on August 8 to 9 in  Mumbai.

Wokha Saathi (friend) is a ground-breaking initiative of the Wokha District Administration that has enabled the citizens of the district to sit at home and avail rightful services by just chatting on the WhatsApp. The Chatbot is a Smart Al Based Assistant for timely Help & Interface, a single point hub that acts as information centre, facilitate service delivery, address grievances, disseminate information, monitoring insights and proactive engagement.

Wokha Saathi was conceptualized and developed by the District Administration led by Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Ranjan, IAS and Addition DC of Bhandari, Rohit Singh, IAS and was officially launched on 19 May 2023 by A Narayanaswamy, Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India at Wokha Town.
