The Department of Social Welfare organised a one-day awareness seminar on substance abuse for various Child Care Institutions, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) and stakeholders of Wokha District namely the Child Welfare Committee, Juvenile Justice Board, staffs of Child care Institutions etc on Thursday, DPRO Wokha stated.

The resource persons in the seminar were from ARK Foundation.

Ketho Angami, founder and director of ARK Foundation, spoke elaborately about understanding addiction and also on the prevention and management of substance abuse.

In addition, Shanchobeni from ARK Foundation spoke on the nature and types of substance abuse counselling in a Child Care Institution set up.

Mary Swuro, protection officer (NIC) chaired the program while Dr. Moasenla Imchen, DCPO Wokha gave the welcome note followed by Lanuchuba, Protection Officer (IC) delivered the vote of thanks.
