Wokha Town Launches ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ Campaign

The Wokha Town Council (WTC) officially inaugurated the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign on 17 September 2024 at the Wokha Town Council Office. The programme was graced by Renbomo Ezung, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) and Executive Officer of WTC, as the speaker.

The campaign, running from 14 September to 2 October 2024, is themed ‘Swabhav Swachhata – Sanskaar Swachhata’, focusing on the cleanliness of nature and cleanliness of culture

Renbomo Ezung, in his address, administered the Swachhata pledge, urging all participants to commit earnestly to maintaining cleanliness in Wokha. He emphasised that the initiative is a nationwide effort and not limited to Wokha or the Nagaland Government, underscoring the importance of community involvement. Ezung stressed that cleanliness should begin at the individual household level and not rely on others. He assured that issues arising will be addressed systematically by the Wokha Town Council.

Khozamo Lotha, Chairperson of WTC, delivered a brief address, highlighting the significance of cleanliness in preserving both natural and cultural heritage. Orenyimo Odyuo,


Sanitation Inspector of WTC, also spoke, reinforcing the collective commitment to maintaining cleanliness.

The ceremony was presided over by T. Chonthungo Ezung, Councillor of WTC, who chaired the event. The Swachhata pledge was administered by Renbomo Ezung, and the invocation was led by K. Lidemo Murry, Councillor of WTC. The session concluded with a benediction by Thungchano Z Kikon, Councillor of WTC.
