Keeping in view the rampant substance abuse and the associated social evils plaguing society, the Wokha Village Youth Organisation (WVYO) cautioned all drug peddlers and bootleggers that it will undertake checking within its jurisdiction.

A press release from WVYO informed that stern action will be initiated against any transport vehicle owners/shopkeepers/persons caught possessing/selling IMFL and any other illegal drugs under NDPS Act.

The youth organisation further informed that any persons caught purchasing IMFL/drugs, found under the influence of drugs or alcohol at any hour will be strongly dealt with as per the resolution of the organisation.

It appealed to all public/stakeholders to cooperate and report to its office, any kind of illegal activity within its jurisdiction.

As and when called for, the WVYO also affirmed to extend ‘its full cooperation and support to any organisation/union/NGOs/government agencies to curb the menace of substance abuse and addiction in the society’.
