The Wokha Winter Fiesta- Music, Eco- Tourism & Adventure under the theme “ Explore, Discover & Grow” will offer an exciting experience, blending music, eco-tourism and adventure from December 7 to 13. MLA Jwenga Seb MLA and Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Higher Technical & Education and Tourism will grace as the Chief Guests during the Inaugural and closing ceremony respectively.
The event has been initiated to be held annually with a vision to preserve and promote the rich eco-tourism along with the positive traditions and culture of our forefathers.
According to the organizers, Team Metamorphosis, the event is a step towards promoting socio-economic sustainable development, better livelihood and a better future fostering a deeper connection with Doyang’s scenic beauty and the Lothas’ vibrant culture.
“The Doyang river considered to be an important river for Wokha district is also equally an important river of Nagaland. The Doyang river site dam located 18 km away from District HQ can be an idle spot for various water sports activities, musical gala, trekking and other recreational pleasures with its massive open water space,” states the organizers.
Team Metamorphosis also shares the potentials of Eco-Tourism in Wokha with its rich natural resources and scenic beauty, adventures like mounting biking, motor boating and ziplining above the waters can provide extra thrills. Outdoor camping and capacity building in the field of Hospitality and other related fields where massive opportunity for employment can also be created in the near future, views the organizers.
The citizens of Wokha District can explore and create consistent methods for inclusive sustainable development that can be strengthened to achieve the aim of promoting eco-tourism with sustainable development practice which comes with the huge potential of generating self employment for the locals.

The organizers also expressed optimism the Winter Fiesta that visitors from neighboring State and districts in close proximity such Merapani, Golaghat and Jorhat will join in the festival and its extravagant activities. It further appealed and invited every citizens of Wokha and nearby districts to come and enjoy the Musics, organic foods, Indigenous games and adventures and also experienced the vast beautiful natural resources and the colorful Lotha Naga Cultural Heritage.
Team Metamorphosis is a Non Profit voluntary organization founded in the year 2005 with the sole aim of working for the upliftment of the society. It act as a medium to create awareness among the unemployed by providing education and vocational trainings. To help the underprivileged community by providing them capacity building through craft activities, education and livelihood. The organization promote fine arts like Music, Indigenous games and Eco-Tourism, and also organizes capacity development program, promoting and strengthening community institutions.
