The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland in partnership with Health & Family Welfare Department and Social Welfare Department organised a one-day State level workshop for sensitization on benchmark disabilities and identification of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in the State on Thursday at Japfü Hotel, Kohima, Chief Electoral Officer (O) Ruokuovituo Khezhie informed.
The workshop was organized by the Office of the CEO Nagaland as part of the SVEEP initiative to address the issues and challenges faced in regard to identification and registration of PwDs in the electoral roll and sensitization of Benchmark disabilities in the State. The main purpose of the workshop was to provide a platform for the three Departments to come together to discuss these key issues and to collectively work towards inclusive and accessible elections.

The guest of honour was Diethono Nakhro, State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities. The programme was chaired and moderated Sharon Longchari, Jt. CEO, Nagaland. Introductory address was delivered by Ruokuovituo Khezhie, CEO (O) short addresses from Dr. Chekroshuyi Tetseo, Director (Dental) DHFW and Bodeno S. Colo, Addl. Secretary, Social Welfare Dept. Resource Persons were Awa Lorin, Joint CEO, Apila Sangtam, State Counsel, Social Welfare Dept. and Dr. Nitovi Shikhu, Deputy Director (Nodal Officer, Disability) Health & Family Welfare Dept. The workshop was attended by District level officers from Health & Family Welfare Department and Social Welfare Department from the various districts of Nagaland.
