The Two days awareness workshop on ‘Packaging for Export of Food & Handicraft Products of Nagaland’ held at Lotha Hoho Council Hall, Wokha concluded today on 28th September 2023. Organized by the Indian Institute of Packaging in association with Wokha District Entrepreneurship Task Force (ETF), the workshop was attended by 210 participants from various villages, SHGs and individuals under Wokha District.

During the two days of workshop, Bidhan Das- Deputy Director & Regional Head, Indian Institute of Packaging, Kolkata Centre briefed on the basic concepts and principles of packaging, packaging Nomenclature, Classification, Positioning, Cushioning, Closures and Ancillary packaging Materials, flexibility packaging for Export of Food and Handicrafts products-Consumer and Bulk packaging.
Dr. Asitava Sur, Indian Institute of Packaging, Kolkata centre spoke on Food Safety Act and FSSAI guidelines for Food & Handicraft, Value Addition in Food and Handicraft Products of Nagaland and also on Bar Coding for MSME products. Details on the UDYAM Registration, PMS and other Schemes for MSME Entrepreneur was highlighted by Taliwati Longchar- IEDS, Joint Director & HoO, MSME-DFO, Dimapur. Meanwhile Anuranjan Singh, Skill & Entrepreneurship Development, Nagaland highlighted the particulars of GeM Registration & GST and on various schemes and its benefits to the participants.
An interaction session was conducted between the importers and the participants. Certificates were awarded to all the participants of the workshop.
