“I started singing at very young age, but it was only in the year 2017 that I got into music fulltime”, said Tethso RJT, an upcoming contemporary Christian artist from Kiphire district.
Tethso said that his inspiration of music comes from God alone.
“God’s love for me inspires me to do music. How could I not when His steadfast love and mercy never ceases on me. And I wish to do it till my last”, added the young dedicated Christian artist.
He added, “Even if one person is blessed listening to my songs, that’s my reward. At the end of the day, it’s not about me but God. My music is supposed to point people toward God. And if it succeeds in that, then that is my ultimate reward.”

Tethso’s songs are very popular among the Sangtam community across the state. Tsasela, a student from Shishimi village said that his songs are an inspiration to many.
“We love to sing a lot of his songs in the church and even at home my mom and friends loves them too very much,” Tsasela stated.
His music is all about Jesus and carries the message about love, hope and faith, the gospel singer said. He implores people to meet/taste Him (Jesus) once, assuring that one will never be the same again as he himself is a witness. “He will do the same for you as He did for me.”
“I was not an Exemplary person but then I found Jesus and he changed me, made me a new person. I owe God my everything and through gospel music I wish to be God’s ambassador. I am not a perfect human being but I believe that is what Jesus came for.”
Life of this young contemporary Christian artist was not really colourful as he did most of his high schooling in hostel far away from his parents and family. Being an introvert, his friends circle was small, but he always took keen interest in leadership. He was exceptional in his academic career and wanted to become a mechanical engineer but ended up taking Agricultural course.
At times after his graduation from college he thought of appearing civil service exam but ended up in God’s ministry fully. Tethso is soon planning to take up MDiv.
“I have been a very stubborn person all my life and very bold at the same time which had a domino effect. For example, if wanted to do something, I just do it without thinking about it twice. If it’s a good decision, the result is rewarding, but at times with bad decision…. you know… it goes badly”, he confessed.
Born in Tütheze Village, Kiphire District in the year 1993, Tethsomong did his high schooling and higher secondary from Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec School, Dimapur and his college from Doon Pg. college of Agri, Science and Tech, Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
The young singer remarked, “I do not know what God will tell me about the thousand mistakes I do every day, but I will still repent and go if I’m called (God forgives). That’s what the Lord asks of us (Matthew 28:19). So, I just obey, and not once God failed me. He is the most faithful I Know.”
He added that “Many expressways and highways are developing but the way to eternity is Jesus, only Jesus Christ”. “Time is short and the harvest plenty, yet the labourers are few,” he added.
Tethso works in one of a mission mode department under Rural Development, Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), Kiphire and is also involved at Kiphire Town Baptist Lithro Youth Ministry as a worship leader.
He has a YouTube channel by the name “Songs of the Witness” Where there are music video of his team and his solo gospel music uploaded.
Tethso RJT is also the founder of (Witness music Conference) WMC, whose sole purpose is to uplift Gospel artists in the state and to encourage to to be a true witness of God.
WMC 1st Edition was held last year 2022, (Octorber 3-5) at USBLA Retreat Centre, Kiphire.
The winners of WMC and its 1st runner up have already released their single gospel original last month (May) on their respective YouTube channel as signed under the contract of WMC committee.
Zisela Rüdithongrü won the first ever WMC award, while Arola Jinger got 1st runners up and followed by Vitila Sangtam 2nd runners up.
The 1st music conference of WMC witnessed participation of all Sangtam youngsters from across the state.

His long-term mission in music is to reach out to the world, evangelise through music and he pray it never stops. Like he said, “It’s not about me, It’s about Jesus. Keep me in your prayers”.
