Rajeshwari Karuna School (RKS) celebrated World Music Day with an event aimed to highlight the impact of music, providing a platform for young talents to showcase their musical abilities. The event took place in Tuli, Mokokchung on the 21st June, 2024. The highlight of the event was a music competition featuring students of RKS.

Amenla Jamir, Principal of RKS in her address emphasised the unifying power of music, describing it as a universal language that transcends caste, creed, and religion, and one that can be spoken by the mute and heard by the deaf.

The music competition began with participants placed into three categories: solo, duet, and band. In the solo category, students were further divided into junior and senior groups. The duet and band categories had no divisions, allowing students from various grades to team up and perform their favourite songs. Participants were judged on their pitch, tempo, diction, band coordination, and showmanship.

All participants showcased exceptional musical skills across all categories. Notably, one band performed an original composition and secured first place among the bands.

The event also featured special performances by students and faculty from Royal Knight Academy, Tuli, First Bloom, Tuli, Zion Higher Secondary School, Tzudikong, and Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Tuli.
