The Wokha Town Baptist Church (WTBC) culminated its first sports evangelism programme on February 11 at the Public Ground, Wokha, after a three-day event held from February 9 to 11.
Altogether 12 teams from various colonies under Wokha town participated in the tournament.
The closing ceremony-cum-fellowship programme was graced by Rev Nyanchumo Lotha, Executive Secretary, LBCA, Vankhosung, as the speaker. In his exhortation, he stated that the primary objective of organising the event was to promote discipline and Christian spirit among the youth through sports. While games are often played to win trophies, he reminded that the greater victory lies in embracing discipline in Christ.
He also encouraged the youth to acquire skills and pursue professionalism, observing the growing employment challenges in the state. Stating that determination and skill are essential for success, he emphasized that nothing can be achieved without God.
