Deputy Chief Minister Nagaland, Y. Patton inaugurated the Community Hall of Dimapur Riphyim Ekhung at Eralibill, Dimapur on 14th December 2024.
Gracing the occasion as the special guest, Patton encouraged the gathering to be ambassadors of peace and love in their neighbourhood and society at large while they are alive, and reminding them that life was short.
He further underscored the importance of time management and integrity and also exhorted the gathering to move ahead with unity. Patton also reminded the gathering to preserve and value their traditional attire stating that it portrays one’s identity.
On the occasion, Patton announced that he will host the Lotha Tokhu Emong 2025 for the Lothas residing under Dimapur and Chumoukedima District where a joint celebration would be organised.

The Deputy Chief Minister lauded Thungbemo Patton, Project Director DRDA Wokha who is also the Chairman Dimapur Riphyim Ekhung for his initiative and unflinching support towards the construction of Dimapur Riphyim community hall. He inaugurated the Riphyim community hall with the unveiling of the monolith and cutting of ribbon.
Special invitee, Dimapur Lotha Hoho Chairman, Thungchanthung Murry in his brief address lauded the positive contribution of Dimapur Riphyim Ekhung towards the Lotha community. He also underscored the importance of preserving one’s culture and traditions.
Chairman, Eralibill Village thanked Y. Patton for taking initiative in various development works including the 1km stretch of road leading to Eralibill village. On behalf of Eralibill Council the chairman also thanked the Lotha community residents of Eralibill for always being supportive and united towards the council.
Chairmen of Pongtong, Serika, Thilong, Old Riphyim and New Riphyim village councils also delivered short speeches. Richard Ezung enthralled the crowd with soulful renditions.
Welcome note was delivered by Thungbemo Patton while dedicatory prayer was offered by Cathecist St. Peter Catholic Church, Old Riphyim village, Khyothungo Patton and invocation by Pastor, Serika Baptist Church, Rev. Sumlamo Patton.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Chairman Dimapur Riphyim Eloe Ekhung, Yanpolumi Odyuo while Pastor, New Riphyim Baptist Church, Rev. Moyithung Murry pronounced the benediction. The inaugural program was chaired by Youth Director, Dimapur Lotha Baptist Church, Longshithung Patton.
