The Yimkhiung Akheru Arihako (YAA) began its first phase indefinite agitation on February 2 over the Yimkhiung Jurisdiction. The agitation has been held against the backdrop of the failure of with the Department of School Education Department to address the shortage of 280 teachers in schools across Yimkhiung region.
After months of unfulfillment by the School Education Department, the YAA community began its first phase indefinite agitation begin in Shamator ,Chessor and Pungro town.

The YAA stated that the ultimatum submitted on 18 January had given 14 days deadline to the Education Department however department has failed to provide any positive response to their demands within the given time, which has compelled the YAA to start its indefinite agitation.
The YAA also informed that it will continue the indefinite agitation unless and until their demands are fulfilled by the Education Department with positive response.
The public rally will mark the beginning of an indefinite agitation over School Education Department for disregarding their ultimatum submitted by YAA to redress the shortage of Teachers across the Yimkhiung Jurisdiction.
