In connection with the Chenmoho Resolution of 23^rd February 2024 regarding abstention from election process, the Yimkhiung Tribal Council (YTC) and its frontal organizations had a joint meeting on April 17 at YTC Office Shamator HQ. Accordingly, the house unanimously resolved to issue the following directives for strict compliance within Yimkhiung jurisdiction.

1. All the Yimkhiung citizens including Government Employees and Political leaders are directed to abstain from casting their vote on 19^th of April 2024.
2. Tribal, Frontal Organizations, Village Councils, Unions, Associated/SubBodies and Citizens under the umbrella of YTC are directed to refrain from meeting any political leaders/MLAs within the period of abstention.
3. Political parties are strictly prohibited from conducting election campaigns or canvassing within the entire YTC jurisdiction. Prohibition to this effect shall encompass displaying of party symbols, flags, banners on walls and streets.
4. Political parties are debarred from deploying their polling agents to the polling stations.
5. All the citizens of Yimkhiung Community residing in different parts of the state are appealed to show solidarity to the fight for the FNT viz-a—viz abstaining from voting to the upcoming Lok Sabha Election.
6. It is directed to all and sundry irrespective of any member from different NGOs, Students’ Bodies and Civil Organizations to refrain from alcohols from the date of issue of this directive till 20^th of April 2024.
7. The YTC has also directed all the concerned to open ‘WAR ROOM’ 24×7 till April 20 in all the Administrative HQs and villages under Yimkhiung Jurisdiction with immediate effect. Any exigencies/grievances arises out of the ongoing process shall be contacted to the respective WAR ROOM.
8. Citizens of Yimkhiung Community are appealed not to be carried away by any false political propagandas or misinformation on social media concerning the ongoing ENPO standing Order. Until the same is cross-checked and clarified by the WAR ROOM and final order from YTC President, it should not be taken into consideration as genuine.

The YTC also issued a warning, that in the event of failure to abide by the above standing directives, defaulter’s(s) name shall be “engraved a permanent testament of betrayal in its history with an indelible letter imprinted for ages to come at YTC office, Shamator HQ.
