Located in Yungphaang village about 2.5 KM away from Tuensang Town, Yungphaang Resort is scenic spot with a traditional Chang kitchen, children’s park and a flower garden.

Initiated by Noksen Ngamen Chang, a nature lover also the owner of poly green house in Tuensang District, this Resort will complete five years (since 2019). The resort has become a favorite spot for Tuensang dwellers where young and old visit to enjoy the view.

The meaning for Yungphaang can be translated into two words ‘yung’ which means plain area and ‘phaang’ means a large plot of land.

Speaking to Nagaland Tribune,Noksen shared, “In the year 2017, we Noksen and Ngamen decided to build a Chang Traditional kitchen to collect and preserved the sustainable and environment friendly wares of the kitchen. But as we were constructing the kitchen we thought why not makes it accessible to everyone.” Slowly, the traditional house expanded to the construction of a children’s park and the flower garden.

“The scenic beauty of Tuensang, cottages, traditional chang kitchen, views tower, rental kitchen for the guest and flower garden which has a new varieties of flowers are found here such as Daisy, Azalea, Calliopsis, cosmos, Alstroemeria, Godetia, Scorpion grass, Chrysanthemum and so on,” says Chang.

The best time to visit the resort is during the late spring and summer time where the flowers are in full bloom in varied hues.
