Advisor, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs Department, Zhaleo Rio inaugurated the Medziphema Town Council Office at the City Centre, Medziphema on Tuesday, DIPR informed.
Rio thanked the administration and organisers for organising the auspicious event for the Medziphema sub-division. He said the Medziphema Town Council Office was a befitting building established for all. Encouraging the youths to come forward for trade and commerce, he said that the building should be utilized to generate revenue for Medziphema sub-division.
He also said the city centre was a first of its kind in the state and Town Council should utilize it to the optimum. Rio emphasized that City Centre Medziphema will serve all tribes under Medziphema Town Corporation and urged them to maintain the magnificent building and set a good example for all. Further, the Advisor reminded the youth to make use of Chief Minister Micro Finance Initiative for start-up.
He also talked about his dream project of building a Health Centre/Ayush hospital and called for the cooperation and support of the public.

ADC and Administrator, Medziphema Imsongmeren explained the concept of the Medziphema Town Council Office and how Rio had conceptualized the City Centre and that the Centre was his brainchild.
The ADC, in his brief report on the establishment of MTC, said that it was set up in 2005 and consists of nine wards. He also informed that the first floor MTC office is for offices, the top floor is for setting up hotels, and the building is for business establishments for the benefit of the general public.
Short speeches were delivered by Additional Director and Head of Department, Municipal Affairs Department, Solesul Tholre, and Miathou Krose, CEB Vice President, CEB, NDPP.
Vote of thanks was delivered by SDO (C) Medziphema, Selemla. The programme was invoked by Rev. Zhabu Terhuja, Pastor Town Baptist Church ‘A’ Medziphema Town.
The programme was attended by 7th AR; Vice Presidents President NDPP A/C Ghaspani 5, surrounding villages, senior leaders, GBs, and special invitees.
