ZSUN to begin second phase agitation against Education Department

The Zeliang Students’ Union, Nagaland (ZSUN) has informed that it will begin its second phase of agitation from October 29.

In a letter to the Deputy Commissioner, Peren, the ZSUN expressed disappointment over the indifferent attitude of the School Education Department, Nagaland towards the genuine demands of the Union.

The indefinite cl’sure of Educational Offices across Peren District which started on the October 9 entered the fifteenth day with no significant progress.

“We are in receipt of a letter from ANSTA, Peren District dated the 17th October 2024. While acknowledging their concerns on the negative impacts on normal functioning of offices, we are equally concerned on the progress of student in the absence of subject teachers in some schools. The welfare and academic excellence of students are our top priority and we will stand for their cause umpteen times even in days to come,” the Union asserted.

Considering the silence and indifference of the education department of Nagaland, the Union informed that it will initiated its second phase of intensified agitation from October 29 until its demands are wholly achieved.

“The Directorate of School Education, Nagaland: Kohima shall be held responsible for any untoward incidence that may so arise from this agitation,” cautioned the Union.
