Zunheboto: preparations for violence-free clean election discussed at DPDB meeting

The monthly DPDB meeting of Zunheboto district was held today at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall.

With DC Zunheboto Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS, as the chairperson, the meeting started with the introduction of new members followed by a review of the last meeting.

The DC said since the election is near, the administration has started enlightening the GB federation, Sumi Hobo, Sumi Totimi Hoho and various organisations on how to conduct violence-free and fair elections, and asked the members to play their own part.

He also added that the administration has started the seizure of alcohol and various abusive substances at various locations.

Zunheboto Superintendent of Police, Vishal Chouhan, IPS said the election process should be a celebration rather than a battlefield. He added that they will need the help of everyone and requested the cooperation of the public.

The SP said stern action will be taken against any government officials who are found campaigning or participating in any political party.

He also informed that all polling stations will be mandatorily covered by CCTV so as to avoid any anomalies in the election process.

An agenda on changing the nomenclature of Bethel School to Cedar School was taken up, which was agreed upon by the house and the DC decided to forward it to the higher authority.

PWD R&B presented a PowerPoint regarding their department’s ongoing and completed works and also on the various problems faced by the department. The DC asked the department to bring the details so that they can discuss and solve the problems together. Mali further directed the PWD department to be sincere and make good roads for the public.
