Zunheboto: Sumi Totimi Hoho observes International Women’s Day

Zunheboto: “There should be fairness between male and female children and thoughts like wishing for male children should be stopped”

Sumi Totimi Hoho (STH), the apex Sumi women organisation, along with the rest of the world observed International Women’s Day on the theme “Embrace Equity” at Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu conference hall on 8 March.

Vikheshe Muru, Vice Chairman ZTGBA, while delivering the greetings, called upon the women present to keep moving forward towards excellence.

He stated that, “Earlier, women were deprived of education but over the years there has been a drastic change and women now hold respectable chairs in many fields”.

H Yepthomi, Advocate Retainer of Zunheboto District Legal Service Authority, speaking during the programme as the theme speaker, said that ‘there should be fairness between male and female children and that thoughts like wishing for male children should be stopped’.

He further urged that a female child is a blessing from God too. He reminded that earlier women were denied inheritance but now women are also included.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Viholi A Zhimomi, General Secretary STH, welcome address said by Kheholi Assumi, STH President and vote of thanks by Vihuli Chishi, Finance Secretary STH.
