10,890 children in Wokha to be immunized during national immunization campaign from 3rd to 5th March

Wokha: SDO (C) urge all colony council chairmen to ensure all children from 0-5 get vaccinated during campaign

The Wokha District Task Force for immunization and Urban Task Force for immunization member convened a consultative meeting to discuss the conduct of National Immunization Day (Pulse Polio) in the district. The national program is scheduled to be held from 3rd to 5th March 2024

According to DIPR, during the meeting District Programme Officer (UIP/RCH) Dr. Thungchanbeni Patton highlighted the activities to be carried out during the three days program, where she informed that children from 0-5 years of age will be given oral polio drops at different polio booths and booth areas. On the first day (3rd March 2023), drops will be given at the booth area set up at different location covering the entire district. She also informed that on the 4th and 5th March, house to house activities will be carried out to ensure that no child is left behind in getting the vaccination.

Further, Dr Patton apprised that a total of 10,890 beneficiaries (0-5 years), covering 20,393 households, will be vaccinated, and a total of 193 vaccination booth will be set up during the three days programme.

SDO (C), Wokha Nuhuta Tunyi who chaired the meeting, appealed all members to mobilize as well as spread the awareness on the importance of immunization to help the child get the vaccine. He also urged all the colony council chairmen to inform and mobilize in their respective colonies to ensure all children from 0-5 get the vaccine during the campaign.
