12 countries and 21 bands will be participating in the 4th Asia Music Summit (AMS) 2024 from February 1-3 in Kohima. Hosted by Nagaland, the Summit is an initiative of MusicConnect Asia and co-organized by Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) – Government of Nagaland.
21 bands have been selected for music showcase (Concert). It includes; OOberfuse, Nchanter, Rain in Sahara, Alobo Naga & The Band, Trance Effect, Abiogenesis, Version 2, Tetseo Sisters, Colored Keys, Coronation Choir, Atsa Lang Roths, Abdon Mech, The Glutbones, Cantamus Choir, African Amakishiu and J M e, Benry Moses, Imna Yaden, Kekhrie Ringa, Jonathan Angami, Ruzazho Tati Folk Song Group and Southern Angami Cultural Society
The music showcase, workshops, mentoring session, panel discussion, business, networking, one-to-one session, etc will take place at, RCEMPA Jotsoma on February 2 and 3.
According to TaFMA, 12 countries have confirmed their participation for the Summit. It includes: Japan, Santiago De Chile, Ontario- Canada, Portugal, Italy, Jordan, Thailand, South Korea, Indonesia, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and host India.
“It is very big and important event and I feel that the music fraternity and all the members especially those in music, arts, artist managers, event managers, promoters will gain so much,” said Theja Meru, TaFMA chairman adding “I encourage everybody to join us.”
The aim of the Summit is to provide a global platform, where the exchange and birth of ideas, and concepts will be fostered, to create exciting new partnerships within Asia and the rest of the World.
This will be one of the biggest opportunities for the musicians, agents, artist managers to congregate and interact with luminaries from the cultural music industry, festival directors, talent buyers in three days of panel discussions, live performance and one to one meetings, mentioned TaFMA.

The Summit is designed for Bands, Agents / Band Managers, Musicians, Music institute heads, Music teachers, Talent managers, event management companies, Music producers, Song writers, Music enthusiasts, Music labels and Music festival directors.
Asia Music Summit started its journey in 2020 with two consecutive editions in collaboration with Global Toronto. In 2023, it conducted its 3rd edition in Ulsan, South Korea. Asia Music Summit is an annual event of international stature and repute to promote the rich music of Asia.
MusiConnect Asia is an artist driven venture and connecting and creating avenues that will be of benefit to Asia based music makers and allied industry, linking them to presenters and opportunities across the globe.
The forum is supervised and governed by a team of esteemed and widely known music professionals from across Asia.
TaFMA was born out of the long-standing and well-established Music Task Force and functions as an important wing of the Department of Youth Resources & Sports. TaFMA promotes `music & arts as an industry’ even as Nagaland has distinguished itself as the first state in the country to recognize music as an industry.
