Kohima: Kevidi mentions he went to gym around the age of 12 to lose weight and ended up lifting

18 years old Kevidi Linyü and 16 years old Chathavituo Mepfhuo will represent Nagaland at the National Strongman Championship. The event, organised by the Indian Strongman Alliance, is to be held at Indradhanush Auditorium, Panchkula, Haryana from 26 to 28 May 2023.

Pursuing their dreams and making Nagaland proud Kevidi and Chathavituo are all set and ready for Friday’s competition with the many other strong men from all over the country.

Kevidi who is in Class 12, G. Rio Higher Secondary School is also known as the strongest teen in Nagaland, earning his title from the International Strongest Man Competition which is held every year during the Hornbill Festival. He has been the second strongest man since 2021.

He will be competing in strongman and powerlifting. Kevidi will be competing in his age category for powerlifting and open category for strongman challenge.

Sharing his story, he mentioned he went to gym around the age of 12 to lose weight and ended up lifting.

He is accompanied by his friend Chathavituo who will be participating in the Powerlifting Sub-Junior category. He is in Class 10 at Mewi school, Kohima.

The two boys thanked their parents, family and friends who always supported them and their dreams.

Talking about his dreams, Kevidi mentioned that after his Class 12, he plans to go for a bachelor’s in PE and concentrate on sports and hopefully open a gym one day. Chatha talks about how he wants to concentrate on sports in particular and represent our state and even our country one day.
