On 1 September 2022, at around 9:00 PM, Nagaland Police personnel of Narcotic Cell PS Mobile Unit, performing routine frisking and checking of suspected vehicles at NH-2, intercepted a Dimapur-bound vehicle B/R No. HR51AU/5006 (Renault Duster) near Viswema Y-Junction of Kohima-Pfutsero-Imphal, which was coming from Imphal, Manipur.

Thorough search of the vehicle resulted in recovery of 200 Kg of suspected ganja which were found wrapped in black polythene. Accordingly, three (3) occupants of the vehicle namely, (i) Anion Raingam (52 years), S/o-Lt. Lungrei Raingram, V/o-Phaalee, Po/Ps-Somdal, Dist-Ukhrul, (ii) Ng. Masotmi (42 years), S/o-Ng. Katui, V/o-Phadang, Po/Ps-Somdal, Dist-Ukhrul, (iii) Holichan Shinglai (53 years), S/o-Prangke Shinglai, V/o-Kasom Khullen, Po/Ps-Kasom Khullen, District-Ukhrul, Manipur were arrested and the illegal contraband along with the vehicle duly seized. A case, vide Narcotic Cell Police Station Case No. 10/2022 U/S 20 (b) (ii) (c)/60 NDPS Act, has been registered for further investigation.
