Pochury Students’ Union (PSU) and Shillong Lajong FC have qualified for the round of 16 by winning the matches on Tuesday, the last day of the second round at the ongoing 22nd NSF Martyr’s Memorial Trophy at IG Stadium.
Pochury Students’ Union vs Phoenix C&C
Pochury Students’ Union (PSU) made it to the round of 16 by defeating Phoenix C&C 3-1.
The first goal was scored by Yiben of Phoenix C&C (jersey no 9) at the 19th minute.
Asie of PSU (jersey no 7) equalised the score at the 33rd minute. His teammate Rhongutho (jersey no 9) netted another goal at the 36th minute.
In the second half, the third goal in favour of PSU came from Apokiitho (jersey no 16) at the 55th minute.
The Man of the Match was awarded to Apokiitho of PSU. The award was presented by Rocus Rino, Finance Secretary, Angami Youth Organization.
Shillong Lajong FC vs Dzülouzou FC
In their debut match, Shillong Lajong FC overpowered their opponent Dzülouzou FC 11-0 and booked itself a place in the Pre-quarters.
Until the first half, Kladajied (jersey no 11) contributed two goals at the 27th and 37th minute. Chanmitre (jersey no 9) added to the score line at the 34th and 41st minute.
In the second half, Chanmitre again netted four goals at the 55th, 58th, 81st and 90th minute, making him the second player to score a double hat-trick in the tournament.
Atlan (jersey no 14), Everbrightson (jersey no 20) and Sangti (jersey no 10) also contributed a goal each at the 74th, 79th and 87th minute.
Shillong Lajong will be facing Pochury Students’ Union in the Pre-quarter.
The Man of the Match was awarded to Sangti of SLFC. The award was handed by Kelhouneizo Yhome, Former ASU President.
