29th T20 Winter Cricket Challenge: Juggernauts and Mayang Nokcha MCC secure wins

The ongoing 29th T20 Winter Cricket Challenge witnessed Juggernauts and Mayang Nokcha MCC both securing crucial victories in the group league stages.

In the first match of the day, Juggernauts won the toss and opted to bat first against Rising Stars. Openers Gaurav (20) and Nayan (17) provided a steady foundation, helping their side to a total of 122 runs. Despite a spirited effort, Rising Stars struggled in their chase, losing all 10 wickets for just 82 runs in 17.2 overs. Juggernauts’ Toshi Manen was the standout performer with the ball, taking 4 wickets for just 8 runs in 4 overs, including 3 maidens, earning him the ‘Man of the Match’ award.

The second match saw Mayang Nokcha MCC elect to bat first after winning the toss against Thyushong Club Tseminyu. Openers Vijay and Manchet were in destructive form, scoring 29 and 58 runs respectively, as Mayang Nokcha MCC set a challenging target of 165 in 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. In response, Tseminyu came up short, managing only 129 runs and falling short of the target by 36 runs. Kepesielie Kent (47) and Alok Sharma were the top scorers for Tseminyu. Mayang Nokcha MCC’s Manchet was named the ‘Man of the Match’ for his superb knock.

Looking ahead to December 21, two matches are scheduled. The first match will see Tiyi Royals face off against LCYO, followed by a contest between Black Hawk and Hornbill Kohima.
