2nd Annual General Meeting of Zikeh Block Level Federation held

The Zikeh Block Level Federation, Kiphire block hosted its 2nd Annual General Meeting at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall on the 28th of May, 2024 informed DIPR.

The meeting was attended by the SHG from 22 villages, Agri & Allied Department as well as well wishers.

During the course of the meeting, Senti Longchar, District Horti Officer, called upon the SHGs to practice collaborative learning in order to uplift the district’s economy and improve the livelihood. He assured his assistance to the Federation and remarked, “We need to work hard and get oneself involved to be self sustainable. “

Temsunungsang, Branch Manager, NSTCB Kiphire Branch also spoke on the occasion and disclosed that the district branch has made a profit of 39 Lakhs in the last year. This year, he stated, the profit has increased to 66 Lakhs, all due to the involvement of SHGs in the branch..

Additionally, Lipichem, District Project Officer, Dept. of Land Resources also stated that the primary goal towards success is to be sincere, dedicated and hard working. Sharing his observations he remarked, “The district is full of resources, be it agricultural or natural resources” and encouraged the SHGs to make the best use of it to improve the district’s economy with the growth of the SHG. He also stated that, “Sharing knowledge, experience and learning should take place through this platform” and further urged the members to focus on all areas of growth including social growth, peace and harmony.

Ripise, Block Program Manager, Kiphire Block delivered the keynote address and remarked that there are 195 SHGs with 1515 members enrolled in the federation. Further, a powerpoint presentation of various works and activities of the SHGs was also presented.

Additionally, Esther Francis Sangtam from Linsi SHG, A Natongre, Sethsala from Kisetong SHG also shared their experience involving in SHG.

Shawuh Village level Organization (VLO), Pungrungru Village, Anatongre Village VLO, Kiphire Village VLO and Phelungre Village VLO presented special song and folk song.

The meeting came to a conclusion with the business hour, reading of Block Level Federation resolution and discussion on the audit report.
