The Youth Resources and Sports Department, Government of Nagaland, in collaboration with the Nagaland Football Association, is set to organize the 2nd Nagaland Women Futsal League 2026 from May 11 to 16 at IG Stadium, Kohima.
A coordination meeting between officials of the Department and the Nagaland Football Association was held on April 17 to discuss modalities and ensure the smooth conduct of the league.
The league aims to promote women’s participation in sports and provide a competitive platform for aspiring futsal players across the State. A total prize pool of up to ₹2,00,000 has been earmarked for the tournament, which will include awards for Best Player, Best Defender, Best Goalkeeper, and other individual recognitions.
The opening ceremony of the league would be held on May 11 at the venue. Participation in the league will be limited to a maximum of 10 teams, selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Each team must comprise a minimum of 7 players and a maximum of 10 players, along with one Team Manager and one Coach.

Interested clubs must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
- The club must be registered under its respective District Football Association (DFA).
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) must be obtained from the respective DFA.
- Each team must have a composition of at least 60% indigenous inhabitants of Nagaland

To facilitate participation, basic accommodation and food would be provided to all participating teams at the IG Stadium, Kohima. Detailed advertisement and registration information would be released shortly.
The Department has encouraged all eligible clubs to register at the earliest and be part of this initiative to strengthen women’s football in Nagaland.
