Manipur and Mizoram will lock horns for the gold medal in Football at the 3rd North East Games 2024. The final match, which is expected to be highly competitive and entertaining, will take place at 2:00 pm at NAPTC Ground, Chümoukedima on Saturday.
Earlier, Manipur had defeated the Nagaland football team in the first semi final today at by 2-1. Nagaland will now take on Arunachal for the bronze medal, who lost to Mizoram 0-2. The match for the third place will take place at 10:00 am at NAPTC Ground.

Meanwhile, Manipur finally ended at the top of the tally on Day 4 with 78 medals including 32 gold, 22 silver, and 24 bronze medals.
Host Nagaland is now second with 81 medals that includes 31 gold, 22 silver, and 28 bronze medals.
Assam continues to assert its presence with 29 gold, 33 silver, and 32 bronze medals, boasting an impressive total of 94 medals. As the competition reaches its climax, the race for supremacy intensifies, with each state vying for glory till the very end, Nagaland Olympic Association stated.
Chief Minister of Nagaland and President of NOA, Neiphiu Rio, along with Abu Metha, Secretary General of NOA, and other esteemed dignitaries, witnessed the wrestling games today at Multidiscipline Sports Complex at Sovima. CM Rio also visited NAPTC Ground to witness the football match going on.
