Nongpoh: Arrested persons admit to involvement case

Four persons were arrested from Dimapur, Nagaland, in connection to a robbery case at a petrol pump at Niangbyrnai, Ri-Bhoi District in Meghalaya.

Jagpal Singh Dhanoa, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Ri-Bhoi District informed in a press release today that the arrests have been made in connection to the robbery case at Umran Fuels in the wee hours of 25th August where four persons assaulted the Manager and staff and stole cash od Rs 4,24,614 along with three mobile phones.

While the identity of three have been revealed, the fourth person’s details are yet to be released. The SP said that the fourth person has been detained by Tuensang Police and team of Ri- Bhoi District Police was on the way to bring the culprit to Meghalaya.

The other three have been identified as Bokavi Zhimomi (25 yrs), Pashen Lam (32 yrs), Rokongulie Keppu (18 yrs). The SP said that on 1st September 2024, the Ri-Bhoi Police arrested the following persons from Dimapur District, Nagaland and during preliminary interrogation the following arrested persons admitted their involvement in the said case. The arrested persons are being produced in District Court with prayer for five days Police remand, he added.

The vehicle used by the gang in the robbery bearing registration number NL07-CB-0156 has also been seized, the SP added.
