The fourth meeting of the Inter Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC), Nagaland Chapter, was held on September 8 at the office of the PRO, Defence, Kohima, with the participation of representatives from various Central and State Government departments and organisations.

The meeting was attended by members representing Akashvani, Doordarshan, Press Information Bureau

(PIB), Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Defence, Directorate of Census Operations, Nagaland, and the Information and Public Relations Department (IPR), Government of Nagaland.

At the outset, Chairperson of the meeting, Ella Kayina, Head of Programme, Akashvani, Kohima, outlined the objectives and significance of the IMPCC platform. She emphasised the importance of holding  regular coordination meetings to strengthen collaboration and facilitate effective dissemination of information on government policies, programmes, schemes and initiatives among the people.

During the meeting, representatives of the participating departments and organisations presented their major activities and publicity initiatives undertaken during August 2026. The presentations provided an overview of various government programmes, campaigns and public information activities carried out during the month.

Among the key initiatives highlighted were publicity and outreach activities related to Har Ghar Tiranga,

Khelo India Samvaad, 12 Years of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, 10 Years of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and Mann Ki Baat. The participants also briefed the Committee on ongoing activities related to the Census 2027 enrolment and preparatory process in Nagaland.

PRO, Kohima, Ministry of Defence, Lt Col Amit Shukla highlighted various activities and initiatives undertaken by the Defence establishment in Nagaland, while the broadcasting organisations shared details of special documentary features and field-based stories highlighting rural areas, communities and developmental activities in the State.

The committee decided to hold its next meeting at the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Kohima.

The IMPCC serves as a coordination platform among various Central and State Government

departments and media organisations for facilitating effective publicity and public communication. The

regular meetings are aimed at strengthening inter-departmental coordination and ensuring wider

dissemination of information on government policies, programmes, schemes and initiatives in Nagaland.
