78 Bn CRPF celebrates 41st Raising Day at Zubza

The 78 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) celebrated its 41st Raising Day with great enthusiasm, pride, and patriotic fervour at Battalion Headquarters, Zubza, Kohima on June 1.

The Battalion was raised on June 1, 1985 at Group Centre (GC) Avadi, Tamil Nadu, and has since rendered distinguished service in various operational theatres across the country. Over the past four decades, the Battalion has consistently upheld the highest traditions of the Force through its dedication, professionalism, and commitment to national service.

The Raising Day celebrations commenced with paying homage to the brave personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. Special Sainik Sammelan was also organized by the Commandant-78 Bn and other activities like sports event and cultural programme followed by Bara Khana were also part of the celebration. Officers, subordinate officers and jawans participated in the programme with great enthusiasm.

Addressing the gathering, Commandant, 78 Battalion CRPF, extended his greetings to all ranks on the occasion. He highlighted the Battalion’s glorious journey since its raising at GC Avadi and lauded the dedication, courage, and selfless service of its personnel. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining the highest standards of discipline, operational readiness, and public service.

On the occasion, library named as “Aksharalaya” for all ranks has been inaugurated at Bn HQ. Zubza. This initiative will empower minds beyond call of duty and promote reading and excel professional capabilities of force personnel.

The Raising Day celebration reaffirmed the Battalion’s unwavering commitment to the ideals of the CRPF and its motto, “Service and Loyalty.” The occasion also served as a reminder of the rich legacy, sacrifices, and achievements of the Battalion since its inception on 01 June 1985.
