The Chakhroma Youth Organization (CYO) has issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Maova Village Council in connection with the alleged attack on leaders and volunteers of the Chakhroma Public Organization (CPO) during an incident that reportedly took place on February 13, 2026.
In an ‘ultimatum’ issued through its Information and Publicity Wing, the CYO alleged that certain individuals from Maova Village were involved in what it described as a “planned and premeditated attack” on the CPO president and accompanying members.
According to the ultimatum, the incident occurred when CPO representatives had reportedly visited the village with the intention of holding a peaceful dialogue.
The CYO alleged that the attack involved the use of catapults, stones, and other projectiles, resulting in grievous injuries to CPO leaders and volunteers. Terming the incident as “unacceptable”, the CYO stated that the matter was serious and required immediate clarification in order to preserve peace, harmony, and mutual respect between neighbouring communities.
As part of its directive, the youth organization has asked the Maova Village Council Chairman to appear in person before CPO leaders at the CPO Hall along with Seiboi Changsan, the Gaon Bura (GB) of Maova village, and individuals allegedly responsible for the violence.

The ultimatum further stipulated that the Maova Village Council must comply within seven days from the date of issuance of the notice, setting February 23, 2026 as the deadline. It warned that failure to comply would compel the organization to “appropriate decision and actions” deemed necessary under Angami customary law and established community resolutions.
The CYO also stated that in the event of non-compliance, the Maova Village Council Chairman and the GB would be held solely responsible and accountable for the alleged acts of violence against CPO leaders.
