Mmhonlumo Kikon, who has been appointed as General Secretary (Political) of the National People’s Party (NPP), has reiterated the party’s regional focus and its commitment to expanding its organizational base across Nagaland and the Northeast.

In an interaction with the media, Kikon said that while NPP is a national party, its core strength and focus remain rooted in the Northeastern region. He stated that the party’s vision goes beyond a single state and seeks to address the aspirations of all eight Northeastern states.

“As far as NPP is concerned, it is a national party with a focus on the Northeast. It goes beyond a particular state and has concerns for all the eight states of the region. It truly represents the voices of the Northeast,” he said.

On strengthening the party’s grassroots presence in Nagaland, Kikon said the NPP is working tirelessly to build a stronger base across the region. He emphasized that the party’s approach is region-specific and not confined to any one state.

“We already have a presence in more than half of the Northeastern states at the moment, and we intend to expand that presence further,” he added, stressing the need for coordinated growth and stronger organizational networks across the region.
