Tepuleho Pusa donates land to Naga wrestling champions

With the objective to promote and preserve indigenous Naga wrestling, Tepuleho Pusa donated plots of land at Manglumukh village under Chümoukedima district to the winners of the 30th NWA Naga Traditional Wrestling Champion 2026 on March 14.
Kezhaseluo-o Pienyü, winner for the Angami Sports Association (ASA) Wrestling Champion 2026 and NWA Wrestling Champion 2026 and Atuo Tevo, Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA) Wrestling Champion 2026 were the recipients.

According to the NWA Media Cell, Pusa had previously donated a similar plot of land to the Viswema Youth Organization Wrestling Champion 2026 Kevime Vitsu. The formalities of handing over the plots to the Champions was carried out in the presence of the office bearers of Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA), Angami Sports Association (ASA), Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA), Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA), elders and leaders from the villages of the Champions. Addressing the gathering, Vivolie Kezo, NWA President appealed to the Champions not to sell the donated land but to live together in harmony as good neighbours. He further acknowledged and thanked the land donor for his generous donations.

During the event, Pusa declared the area as Miavimia Badze. “This act of generosity by the donor comes from a place of deep admiration, appreciation and recognition of the indigenous sport and a bid to encourage the young and upcoming wrestlers,” stated the NWA.

Pusa also donated land of the same proportion to Venuzo Dawhuo, a two times NWA Champion, to honor his achievements in the journey of Naga wrestling journey. “This generosity was not listed in the books but stemmed from the donor’s pure insight to applaud Dawhuo’s talent and achievements in Naga Wrestling,” mentioned the NWA.

The Association expressed its appreciation and admiration for Pusa’s magnanimity, terming it as “an undeniable goodwill gesture of colossal measure which will go down in the history of Naga Wrestling as one of the greatest patronages acts ever.”

It further expressed hope that the recipients will utilize the donated land “uprightly and justly”.
