Phek DPDB discusses office closure issue, appoints convenors for Viksit Nagaland Vision 2047

The Phek DPDB took up the issue of the SDO (Electrical) office at Phek headquarters being shut down by individuals who claimed ownership of the land on which the office stands. The matter was brought to light by the concerned SDO (Electrical), Er Nukhosa Chizo, during the monthly DPDB meeting held at the DC’s conference hall in Phek on March 17. It was reported that the office has remained closed since February 27.

Deliberating over the issue, DC and Vice Chairman DPDB Phek, Rhosietho Nguori, NCS, who chaired the meeting urged the concerned department officers and staff to initiate for solution. The SDO (Electrical) informed the House that negotiations are currently underway with the landowners to reach an amicable settlement. Taking note of the seriousness of the matter, ADC Pfutsero, Mhalo Humtsoe, NCS, also advised the department to formalize an agreement in accordance with the existing government policies.

The meeting also addressed the topic of Viksit Nagaland, during which Thejakhrienuo Nisa, NCS, ADC Phek, briefed the members on a letter received from the State Planning & Transformation Department regarding the organization of a comprehensive workshop to prepare the Vision Document for Viksit Nagaland @2047.

The House then held detailed deliberations on the Vision Document for Viksit Nagaland and subsequently appointed one convener for each of the five pillars of the Vision Document, namely:

  1. District Agriculture Officer, Phek, Convener for Ecomonic Development.
  2. Chief Medical Officer, Phek, convener for Social Develooment
  3. District Forest Officer, Phek, Convener for Environmental Sustainability.
  4. EE (PWD), Pfutsero, Convener for Infrastructure.
  5. ADC Phek, Convener, for Governance and Institutional Strengthening.

Zhoi Lohe, NCS, Project Director, DRDA (Department of Rural Development), Phek and Vivose Kera, Assistant Urban Development Officer of Urban Department, Phek highlighted current activities of their department at the meeting through power point presentation.
