Canada scored the fasted goal of the World cup 2022 by scoring within the 3rd minute.

Having lost the first match to Belgium, world cup minnows Canada needed some points in the match against Croatia on Sunday.

Canada started in an awesome when a sprinting Alphonso Davies rose high above the Croatian defenders to head home a superb cross from the right from David.

The goal happened to be the first goal by Canada in their world cup history, and the fastest goal of FIFA World Cup 2022.

Croatia pressured the Canadians. Veteran Perisic on the left passed a teasing ball to Kramaric who score a beautiful goal with a low left foot shot to the far post.

Just before halftime, Livaja drove a low post from just outside to the right corner to take Croatia into the halftime leading 2-1.

Kramacic scored his second goal of the night when he superbly controlled a cross from Perisic and drove another low shot into the right corner in the 70th minute.

In extra time, Canadian defender Miller made a mistake and gave the ball away to Croatia. Orsic dribbled towards the keeper and selflessly passed the ball on to Majer who scored with a shot to the top left, to give Croatia an emphatic 4-1 win.

In the Belgium vs Morocco match, star-studded Belgium were in for a rude shock against a spirited opponent.

Belgium had won its first match against Canada while Morocco had drawn with Morocco.

A win for Belgium would have taken them to 6 points and almost assured them of heading to the knock-out round.

But that was not to be as the Moroccans blunted their attacking moves, while scoring two themselves.

Morocco had a goal disallowed for offside by VAR when Ziyech’s free kick bounced just infront of the keeper and hit the net.

Romain Saiss whipped in a curling shot from near the right corner flag in the 73rd minute which was misjudged by Belgian keeper Courtois, to score the first goal.

In extra time, Ziyech pulled a ball back to Aboukhlal whose shot from close range to the top left corner was way beyond the reach of Coutois.

With two losses, Canada are out of contention for the next round. Morocco play against Canada in their next match and will expect to pick up at least one point that will be enough to carry them to the next round.

Croatia can progress to the next round if they don’t lose to Belgium, while a loss will mean that their fate will be decided on the outcome of the Canada–Morocco match. Belgium needs a victory against Croatia to proceed, while a draw will mean that Morocco has to lose to Canada by a big goal margin to get through to the next round.
