The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Wokha Division on March 25 brought its first Assembly Constituency (AC) tour to a close at 40 Bhandari AC, with the concluding session held at the Town Hall, Bhandari.
The programme marked the culmination of a series of interactions aimed at strengthening the party at the grassroots level following its recent merger with the NDPP.
Addressing party workers, COB member Mhonthung Patton highlighted the purpose of the tour, stating that the party’s strength depends on active public participation. He elaborated on the party’s four-tier structure—central, division, constituency and village—and called for stronger coordination across all levels.
Youth Wing (Wokha Division) president Amos Odyuo described the NPF as a strong regional force post-merger and urged members to work with dedication for its growth. He also encouraged wider enrolment and unity among party workers to uphold the party’s image.
Central Youth Wing working president, Achamo Kikon termed the merger a positive development and stressed the importance of inclusivity, while calling for greater engagement at the grassroots by linking village governance with state-level politics.
NPF Women’s Wing vice president Grace Murry lauded the leadership in 40 AC and urged members to remain grounded while continuing to strengthen the party’s leadership for sustained progress.
Speaking on democratic values, COB secretary Mhao Odyuo cautioned against corruption and money-driven politics, urging voters to prioritise long-term development over short-term gains.
