Mokokchung Police apprehended one person for illegal possession of a firearm during a late evening operation on April 2.

According to a press release issued by the Office of the Superintendent of Pollice, Mokokchung, the individual has been identified as Imtinungchet (23), son of Lt. Tiameren of Chungtia village.

The arrest was made at around 9:50 PM. Police recovered one country-made .22 pistol along with a magazine and three live rounds of .22 ammunition from his possession. In addition, one unregistered motorbike (Bajaj Pulsar 150 cc) and a mobile phone were also seized.

Police informed that a regular case has been registered under the Arms Act, and further investigation is underway.
