Farewell programme held for outgoing administrative officers in Kohima

A farewell programme in honour of outgoing administrative officers of Kohima district was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall on April 6.

Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, B Henok Buchem, in his address, remarked that in all his years of service, it was the first time he was witnessing such a large number of officers being transferred at one time. While describing it as a unique occasion, he stated that transfers and postings are a routine exercise in government service, and that the officers have been placed appropriately by the Government in recognition of their capabilities.

The DC, while speaking about the outgoing officers, appreciated their professionalism, sincerity and dedication, noting their individual strengths, including diligence, analytical ability, integrity and commitment to duty. He expressed confidence that they would carry forward these qualities and continue to perform effectively in their new assignments.

Stating that the district administration is proud of all the outgoing officers, he expressed confidence that they would continue to uphold the values of public service wherever they are posted. He also encouraged them to remain supportive and extend assistance whenever required.

In a reflective note, he remarked that life is like a book, where each day forms a page and each phase of service becomes a chapter, and encouraged the officers to remain mindful in their service as their work would be remembered and judged by others.

He concluded by wishing all the officers the best in their new postings and expressed hope that they would continue to grow in their careers and serve with dedication.

Speaking on behalf of the officers, RO Kohima, Kevingoto Kulnu expressed gratitude and acknowledged the dedicated services rendered by officers who have been transferred to new assignments in different parts of the State.

He highlighted the contributions of the outgoing officers and shared his experiences of working with them, particularly in handling challenging assignments such as eviction drives, disaster response, and law and order situations. He lauded their dedication, composure, and commitment to public service, stating that their contributions had greatly strengthened the functioning of the district administration.

Speaking on behalf of the Dobashis, DB-I Ruokuolhouvo expressed appreciation for the guidance and support extended by the outgoing officers. He stated that their leadership and encouragement had a lasting impact on both professional and personal growth, and wished them success in their future assignments.

On behalf of the staff, UDA, Vilalie Sogotsu acknowledged the sincerity and hard work of the officers and expressed confidence that they would continue to serve the public with dedication in their new postings.

Short speeches were also delivered by the outgoing officers—Alemyapang Longchar, NCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Chiephobozou); Rorheu Peseyie, NCS, Sub Divisional Officer (C) Hq; James Renbi Kikon, NCS, Sub Divisional Officer (C) Sadar; Imliakum Sanglir, NCS, Sub Divisional Officer (C) Sechü Zubza; Limakumla Pongener, NCS, Extra Assistant Commissioner (Kezocha); and Moasunep K. Jingru, NCS, Extra Assistant Commissioner (Chiephobozou). They shared their experiences and expressed gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner, fellow officers, and staff for their cooperation and support during their tenure in Kohima. They described their posting in the district as a significant and enriching phase of their service, marked by learning, teamwork, and the successful handling of various administrative challenges.

The outgoing officers emphasized the importance of empathy, coordination, and commitment in public service, and encouraged colleagues to continue working with sincerity and dedication for the welfare of the people.

The programme was chaired by SDO (C) Jakhama, Vineikho Tetso, while invocation was pronounced by Medoneisa Chadi, LDA. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Riku Khutso, EAC Kohima, followed by a benediction.
