Monitoring and District Review Meeting was held at Dr Motsuo Memorial District Hospital, Wokha on April 15. The team from Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland was led by Dr I Arenla Walling, Director (Dental).
Dr Arenla encouraged medical officers and staffs to work with sincerity and passion. She hopeD the review meeting would be an opportunity to reflect, learn and improve the health services in the district.
Both Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Dr Mhonchan N Kithan and Dr Thungchanbemo Ezung, Chief Medical Officer presented power point presentations on the implementation status of various programmes in the district.
Dr Kithan welcomed the officials and briefed them on the history of the hospital. He also sought for good quality medical equipments in the hospital.
Dr Ezung emphasised on the lack of manpower in some health facilities and the absence of infrastructure in eleven health facilities in the district. He attributed the low health coverage in some areas due to difficult terrain.

During the review meeting, Dr Kika Longkumer, Joint Director highlighted the role of Corporate Social Responsibility in procuring equipments for health facilities and advice the district health officials to work in close coordination with the district administration.

The importance of community participation in health sector and more coverage on Human Papilloma Virus vaccination in the district was mentioned by Dr Imkongtemsu, Joint Director in the meeting.
The team later inspected the District Hospital including the ongoing construction of Integrated Public Health Laboratory.
