Addressing the gathering at Ramlila Maidan, Rahul Gandhi, along with senior Congress and INDIA Alliance leaders, called for safeguarding the integrity of elections, the constitutional rights of citizens and the principle that the authority to elect a government rests with the people of India.
The NPCC said its participation reflected the Nagaland Congress’s solidarity with the wider national movement to protect the Constitution, democratic institutions and citizens’ right to vote.
Describing the rally as more than a political protest, the party said it represented a collective demand for democracy, accountability and the future of the country. It added that the gathering conveyed the message that democratic institutions must be protected, the Constitution upheld and every vote respected.
