The Kiphire District Planning & Development Board meeting was held on April 16 at the DPDB hall, under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner & Vice-Chairman, Temsuwati Longkumer.
While reviewing the minutes of the previous DPDB meeting along with the Action Taken Report, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need to intensified awareness-cum-sensitization programmes of the Department of Minority Affairs, the Nagaland Skill & Entrepreneurship Development Mission (NSEDM), and the facilitation of opening of bank accounts at Longmatra NRB Branch.
The Power Department Kiphire, informed that installation of smart metering systems in all Government offices is underway as part of the state-wide rollout. It was informed that replacement is carried out free of cost for consumers under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) and SASCI schemes. The initiative is expected to ensure accurate billing, reduce transmission and distribution losses, and to promote better energy management practices.
The House deliberated on the issue of land acquisition along National Highway-202 (NH-202), particularly in connection with the proposed upgradation of the existing single-lane road. After brief deliberation, the House resolved to defer the matter for detailed discussion and consideration in the next DPDB meeting.

During the meeting, members felicitated outgoing officers Lipichem, DPO (LRD) and Moses Newmai DCO (Arts & Culture). The board acknowledged their dedicated service and presented token of respect and appreciation.
Post meeting, the District Administration Kiphire, conferred the Certificates of Participation in the district level consultative workshop on “Viksit Nagaland @2047 Vision Document,” held on 15th April 2026.
The meeting ended with a vote of thanks from the Chair, who also urged continued coordination and development works. The next PowerPoint presentation has been assigned to General Manager, DIC and Social Welfare Department.
