A new outlet of Woodpecker’s Willow, a locally run woodcraft enterprise founded by Tsenthungo Lotha and Ejungthung Ngullie, was opened in Wokha town on Thursday.

Situated on the second floor of a building near Vishal Mega Mart, the store began welcoming customers from 2:00 PM. The outlet displays a variety of handcrafted wooden items such as lamps, kitchenware, decorative pieces and accessories, with special discounts offered on the opening day.

Addressing the gathering, Tsenthungo Lotha said the initiative is aimed not only at generating income but also at creating opportunities for others. He noted that the venture seeks to train and engage local youths in woodcraft, enabling them to develop practical skills and explore alternative livelihoods.

He also highlighted the need for young people to look beyond government employment and focus on skill-based work in today’s changing times.
