The iinaugural programme for the Inter Departmental Tournament of Phek District was held at Badminton Stadium, Phek on 7th October 2026, with Vice President of Chakeshang Public Organization, Vecito Dozo as Special Guest. The tournament will culminate on 9th October 2026.
In his speech, Vecito Dozo said that the presence of Chakeshang Public Organization (CPO) in the event shows its solidarity with government officials of various departments in the district led by the Deputy Commissioner, Rhosietho Nguori and his subordinate ADC & Convener of the tournament, Thejakhrienio Nisa. Acknowledging the organising committee for organizing the tournament, he said the tournament will give a platform to all employees of various department in the district, and will help them to create a conducive environment. While encouraging the department officers for the upliftment of the people of Phek, Vecito Dozo asserted that the Tournament will be a wakeup call towards improvement of work culture in the district. He also informed that the district is progressing and the process of continue progress depends on the officers who are presently serving in the district.
Acknowledging his concerned for the tournament, the special guest urged upon the sports loving men and women to maintain integrity and play with full sports spirit throughout the tournament. Later, he declared the tournament open with a penalty kicked off at local ground, Phek.
Thejakhrienuo Nisa, ADC and convener of Tournament delivered the welcome addressed, while Abel Avomi, Pastor Sema Baptist Church, Phek town offered an invocation prayer. Er. Chubatemsu Ao, EE Power, Phek chaired the program. Special number was presented by Sakulu Lihe, Proprietor of Little Singers Garden, Phek.
Er. Yimkumwati Pongen, EE, PWD (NH), Phek conducted the oath taking ceremony and administered an oath to the participating teams from various department.
The tournament includes Penalty Shootout (Men & Women), Badminton, TT and Carrom (Men & Women). The inaugural program was attended by DC Phek, CSO leaders, officers and staffs from various departments.
