The Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW) organised an Awareness Progamme on Mainstreaming Gender into Development Plans and Policy in collaboration with Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM), Shamator Block at DC’s Conference Hall, Shamator on April 24 along with various missions under Department of Social Welfare viz Mission Shakti, Mission Vatsalya and ICDS Project.
The visiting team was led by W Ngyinyeih Konyak, Chairperson of NSCW. The NSCW team also visited Police Station Women Cell, Community Health Centre and SAKHI-One Stop Centre, Shamator and interacted with the staff and officials to understand the challenges of the district and provided valuable insights for safety, security and empowerment of women in the district.

The awareness program was attended by District Administration officers led by the Deputy Commissioner Shamator, Chubatemjen, staff of DPO, NSRLM Block, the SHGs, Frontal Organizations of Shamator district including YWO, Self Employed Women Association (SEWA) and Civil Society Organizations from the district.
