In a significant breakthrough, a team from North Police Station, Kohima led by SDPO (North), Kohima, with valuable assistance from SDPO Jalukie and her team, successfully recovered a stolen Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 motorcycle and arrested two persons in connection with the theft.
According to police, the incident came to light on April 17, 2026 when a written FIR was lodged at North Police Station by Katabathina Sudheer Kumar, a bike rider and YouTuber from Andhra Pradesh stating that his motorcycle, a Himalayan 450 bearing registration number AP40CS4895, had been stolen from outside his homestay at Midlane Colony, Kohima.
Acting on the complaint, an extensive search and investigation was launched. Following sustained efforts and intelligence-based operations, the investigating team traced the stolen vehicle to New Jalukie area in Peren District. In a joint operation with Peren Police led by SDPO Jalukie on April 27, the motorcycle was successfully recovered.
In this connection, the prime accused identified as Ilungchube along with the receiver of the stolen bike identified as Amos Pame have been arrested. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the full extent of their involvement and any possible network.

PRO, Kohima Police said that this operation stands as a shining example of the importance of seamless coordination between district police forces. The swift exchange of information between Kohima Police and Peren Police, coupled with the proactive supervision of SDPO Jalukie and the investigative rigor of the North Police Station team led by SDPO (North) Kohima, enabled the recovery of the stolen vehicle within just ten days of the complaint, he stated.
Such inter-district collaboration not only expedites justice but also sends a strong message that jurisdictional boundaries will not hinder effective policing, he added.
“This recovery reaffirms our commitment to the safety and security of all visitors to our state. We will not tolerate any criminal act that tarnishes the image of our peaceful state,” he assured.
He further urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities immediately.
