A one-day awareness programme on Disaster Management was held on September 11, organised by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kiphire, in collaboration with the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Kiphire.

During the programme, the District Project Associate, DDMA, Kiphire Berela delivered a presentation on “Brief Introduction to Disaster Management, Emergency Relief Fund (ERF) and SDRF – Norms of Assistance, Eligibility and Digital Relief Payout System.” The presentation focused on creating awareness regarding disaster management mechanisms, relief assistance, eligibility criteria and the digital process for disbursement of relief assistance.

The programme also highlighted the role of legal aid in disaster situations, including the availability of free legal services and assistance to disaster victims.
