The District Planning & Development Board, Tuensang held its Monthly meeting on May 7 at DC’s Conference Hall, Tuensang under the Chairmanship of Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman DPDB, Tuensang.

After reviewing the last meeting minutes, the board discussed and recommended for registration of Saoshoung Chipen Society Tuensang. During the discussion hour, Dr. Akash Sinha (IPS) SDPO, Tuensang highlighted the present scenario of Drug trafficking in the district and said, the department is striving work to reducing the demand of drug in the district.

Sharing the problem of drug in the district, SP, Tuensang Longpoksang Lumtur said ignorance and availability of cheap drug online and at medical store is the major concern. He therefore urged the Church, NGO’s and Civil societies to play a greater role in curbing the usage and influx of drugs in the district.

DIET Tuensang and Polytechnic Sedem gave a power presentation about their respective departmental activities in the district. The DC requested the Department in the district to take initiative in cleaning and planting of saplings during the World Environment Day in the District. The DC entrusted the PHED and SP cyber-Crime, Tuensang to present their department activities in the next meeting.
