Advisor, Youth Resources & Sports, S Keoshu Yimkhiung attended a Consultative Meeting of Labour Society (Rhimoru Arih-Ako Welfare Society) under Shamator District.
Advisor in his address acknowledged the challenges faced by the Labour Society and emphasized on making efforts for bringing change in the face of labour community in Shamator district and said that every labour is also a grassroot level worker.
Advisor also highlighted the key features of labourer’s schemes and benefits available for the registered labourers, and added labour union is responsible for the growth of any society.
To uplift the labour community, the Advisor also handed over a vehicle (gypsy) to the Labour Society for official purpose to mitigate the hardships faced by the labours society.
It may be mentioned that the Shamator district does not have a Labour Office and has to travel to Tuensang district for all works related to Labours Ssociety, therefore providing a transportation for the union is a remarkable contribution to the Labours Society of Shamator district.

Some positive impact of having the Labour Society in Shamator are, Level of progress in the district is unprecedented compared to other predecessors of newly created district which was acknowledged by Mohammed Ali Shihab, IAS during his maiden visit to Shamator.
Importance of unity in a common platform such as Labours Society, owing to series of training and skill development course imparted to local labours there is a change in labour force. Local labours are seen engaging in works rather than other labours from neighbouring states.
